Abstract

PURPOSE:To clearly discriminate when and which a document is scanned, by adding discriminating information to a scan signal. CONSTITUTION:Characters on a document shown in the diagram are scanned by a scanning mechanism 11 and converted into electric signals. On the other hand, when characters or symbols (AS-abc*6, in the diagram) which can specify the document are inputted from the keyboard of an additional information controlling circuit 21, the characters or symbols are added to the above mentioned scanned signals by a combining circuit 23 after they are converted into codes by a pattern generator 22. Therefore, discriminating code information ''AS-abc*6'' which specifies the document is displayed on a display section 62 or dummy image 71.

The scanning device is composed of a scanning mechanism section and an amplifying section, and the scanning mechanism section is further composed of a scanning section, an illumination section, and a form conveyance section, and operates as follows. The light from the illumination section is applied to the form being conveyed by the conveyance section. The light is reflected according to the shade of each point that makes up the image on the form, and is taken into the scanning section.

Therefore, the present invention provides a scanning section that scans an image on a form, converts it into an electrical signal, and outputs it, and an input signal that adds additional information about the form to the electrical signal output from this scanning section and outputs a composite signal. The above objective was achieved by configuring the controller with 11 control units.

FIG. 1 is a configuration diagram of this embodiment. In the figure, 1 is a scanning section, 2
is an additional information control section. The scanning section 1 includes a scanning mechanism 11 and an amplifier 12. The scanning mechanism 11 is composed of a scanning section, an illumination section, and a form conveyance section. The conveyance section conveys the form, the illumination section shines light on the document being fed, and the scanning section illuminates the document as it is reflected. This is a mechanism that takes in the generated light, converts it into an electrical signal, and transmits it to the amplifier 12. Amplifier 12
is a circuit that amplifies and outputs an electrical signal suitable for the next processing. The access information control section 2 includes an additional information control circuit 2.
1, a pattern generator 22, and a synthesis circuit 23. The additional information control circuit 21 is a circuit that has an input device such as a keyboard, converts information related to a form, such as a scanning processing number, into a code and outputs it, and further controls the pattern generator 22 and the synthesis circuit 23. The pattern generator 22 has a memory in which character and symbol patterns are stored, and is accessed by a code output from the additional information control circuit 21. The synthesis circuit 23 has a memory in which the electrical signal output from the amplifier 12 is stored, and when a signal is input from the pattern generator 22, the content of the memory at the location specified by the additional information control circuit 21 is transferred to the pattern generator 22. This circuit outputs a synthesized signal by overwriting the signal inputted from the pattern generator 22, and when no signal is inputted from the pattern generator 22, it outputs the contents of the memory.

The image on the form shown in Figure 2, that is, “77+123
456" and "'ABCDE-PQ" is scanned by the scanning mechanism 11. The electrical signal output from the scanning mechanism 11 is amplified by the amplifier 12. Here, the electrical signal output from the amplifier 12 If displayed on this real size display section, it would be displayed as shown in Figure 3. 31 is an image of the scanned part on the form, and 32 is an example with a dummy image added around it. The electrical signal output from the amplifier 12 is stored in the synthesis circuit 23.
