【考案の詳細な説明】
本考案は筒型触媒体による排ガス浄化装置に於て、筒型
触媒体とケーシング間を通過する生の排ガスをシールす
る排ガスシール装置に関するもので、その目的とすると
ころは環状のシール板が車体の振動及び熱作用で変形し
て前記間隙内に入りこみシール性能が低下するのを防止

従来の筒型触媒体による排ガス浄化装置は、第1図に示
すように筒型触媒体1外周面とケーシング2内周面間の
環状路3に、耐熱性金属細線からなる波形のネット4を
介装して筒型触媒体1の径方向を弾支し、前記環状路3
両側及び筒型触媒体1の両側外周部に環状のシール板5
を当接し、その外方より耐熱性金属細線錯綜体を所定密
度に圧縮した環状の金属クッション体6を当接し、更に
その外方を断面り型環状のりテーナ−7で押圧して前記
環状のシール板5を金属クッション体6と筒型触媒体1
の側面外周部に接着し、リテーナ−の外方鍔7aをケー
シング2内面に溶着固定し、内方鍔7bで金属クッショ
ン体6の下部を支持していたので排ガスの力及び車両の
振動でシール板5が次第に半径方向あるいは環状路3に
向って中心に向って移動し環状路3を完全にシールでき
なくなるので排ガスの一部は入口側の金属クッション体
6より環状路3に流入し、出口側の金属クッション体6

しであるので排ガスの力や車両の振動がシール部材に作
用しても、シール部材外周部は突起に押圧係止されてい
るので半径方向にずれたり、変形してケーシング内面間
隙に入りこんだすせず、充分のシール効果を有するもの
