Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent spoilage, deterioration of a paper conveyor member and overheating of the inside of a casing, by providing a driving apparatus which causes all the shutters to pivot simultaneously, in response to a suspending operation of the printer, such that the opening of the casing is closed in a blind- like manner. CONSTITUTION:When the printer is suspended in order to replace a pile table 24 of a delivery apparatus 4 with an empty pile table because the amount of paper 5 on the pile table 24 has reached a predetermined value, a piston rod 45 of an air cylinder 44 is expanded through a controller. Through a lever 46 and a slide angle 48, a slide pin 49 causes a shutter 41 to pivot against its own weight. Consequently, the opening of a casing 31 is closed with a space left between the adjacent shutters 41 in the same manner that a blind is closed, thereby shutting off radiation heat. In this case, the pile of paper 5 is at rest together with a delivery chain 17. There is, however, no possibility that the paper 5 may be discolored, deformed or burnt on heating. Further, although the shutters 41 are closed, a space is formed between the adjacent shutters 41. Therefore, there is no possibility that the inside of the casing 31 may be overheated.

In printing operations using a sheet-fed rotary printing press, the paper printed by the printing unit is conveyed one by one while being gripped by the claws of the paper ejection chain, and at the end of the conveyance, it is released from the claws and falls onto the paper stacking table. be done. In this case, the printing ink is not dry.
When stacked, the printing ink on the lower layer paper is transferred to the back side of the upper layer paper, causing so-called set-off.

Conventionally, attempts have been made to install a spray device near the paper ejecting device and spray powder onto the printed paper surface in order to prevent bleed-through. Or, when this paper is fed to the printing machine again for additional printing, powder may adhere to the printing cylinder bracket or plate surface, causing printing problems. The disadvantage is that the particles float in the air, significantly deteriorating the working environment.

In addition, as another measure to prevent paper transfer, a paper ejecting operation called "Itadori" has been adopted. This is done by placing sleepers on both sides of the stacked paper every time a predetermined amount of paper is loaded on the paper stacking table, and inserting a board on the sleepers while watching the timing of the paper fall to continue stacking the paper. The paper is stacked in several stages to reduce paper pressure due to weight and prevent set-off. However, this sheet-cutting work is difficult to insert the sheet-boarding board and requires a long line, and this is not a fool's errand that can result in paper waste. This method has the disadvantage that the paper must be reloaded to the paper feed position while removing the board, and this reloading operation requires a great deal of labor and time.

In view of the above points, conventional practice has been to install an ink drying device in the paper conveyance path by the paper ejection chain to heat the paper, dry the ink, and then eject the paper.
Generally, infrared or ultraviolet radiant heat is widely used as the heat source.

For example, in the case of an infrared type ink drying device, this type of ink drying device is equipped with a box-shaped drying unit equipped with an infrared lamp, and the paper being transported is irradiated with infrared energy of 500 to 60°C, which is radiated from the lamp. However, printing machines are not necessarily operated continuously, and may be stopped, for example, when reloading paper, replacing the output paper stack, or when a paper feed failure occurs, and at this time the paper may dry out. If the paper was stopped in front of the unit, the paper would discolor and deform due to the heat, resulting in wasted paper, and depending on the quality of the paper, it could burn, which was extremely dangerous from a safety standpoint. Further, there is a drawback that the claws, claws i, etc. that hold the paper in their mouths deteriorate due to turning over the stoppage in the heated state, resulting in a decrease in their durability.

The operation of the printing press and ink drying device configured as above will be explained. The papers 5 stacked on the paper stacking table 6 are suctioned one by one by a suction device, sent onto a transfer plate T, and then gripped by the claws of an impression cylinder 10 by a swing device 12. This paper 5 is transferred from the impression cylinder 10 to the transfer cylinder 11 and to the transfer cylinder 1.
The grips are changed sequentially from the impression cylinder 1 to the next impression cylinder 10, and while being conveyed, four-color printing is applied to the blanket cylinder 9, and then the sheet is changed to the discharge mold 18. paper guide 25
The material is transported while sliding in contact with the material. At this time, the ink drying device 3
Since the shutter 41 of 0 is hanging down due to its own weight and the opening of the housing 31 is open like when opening a blind,
Radiant heat from the infrared lamp 36 reflected by the reflector plate 38 is convected by the fan 50 and irradiated onto the paper 5 being conveyed through the upright portion of the paper discharge chain 17, thereby drying the printed ink. The dried paper 5 is further conveyed, and at the end of the conveyance, it is released from the paper discharge mold 18 and falls onto the paper stacking table 24, where it is stacked. In this case, since the printing ink is dry, set-off does not occur even if the paper 5 is stacked on the paper stacking stand 24 without boarding, so-called stacking.

For example, when the paper 5 on the paper stacking table 24 of the paper ejecting device 4 reaches a predetermined amount and the printing apparatus is stopped in order to replace it with an empty paper stacking table, the piston of the air cylinder 44 is activated via the control device. As the rod 45 extends and the slide bin 49 rotates the shutter 41 against its own weight via the lever 46 and the slide angle 48, the opening of the casing 31 closes to the adjacent shutter like when a blind is closed. 41 is closed leaving a gap between them to block radiant heat. Therefore, although the paper 5 is stopped together with the paper discharge chain 17 at this time, the paper 5 will not be heated, discolored, deformed, or burned. Moreover, even if the shutters 41 are closed, a gap is formed between adjacent shutters 41 to allow air to circulate, so that the inside of the housing 31 does not become overheated. Note that the shutter 41 may be removed from the housing 31 for cleaning etc.
When removing it from the shutter angle, by grasping it and pushing it up in the axial direction, the end shaft 43 will come out of the pin hole of the shutter angle 40, so it can be easily removed by pulling it toward you.

In this embodiment, an example is shown in which the ink drying device 30 is provided at the rising point of the paper ejection chain 17, but in the case of a paper ejection device equipped with a horizontal paper ejection chain without a rising portion. The device may be installed horizontally. However, in this case, no self-weight is applied to the shutter 41 in the axial direction, and the end shaft 4
3 may come off due to vibration, etc., so it is necessary to prevent it from coming off by applying pressure with a spring member, etc. Further, this device may be installed horizontally above the paper stacking table 24. Further, in this embodiment, an infrared lamp is used as an example of the drying heat source, but the infrared lamp may be a near-infrared lamp with a short wavelength, or a far-infrared lamp with a long wavelength of visible light. Furthermore, an ultraviolet lamp or the like may be used, and the type of heat source is not limited.

As is clear from the above description, according to the present invention, in the ink drying device of a sheet-fed rotary printing press, a plurality of blind-like shutters are installed in the opening facing the printed paper surface of the housing in which the drying heat source is installed. The printer is arranged in parallel and hangs down to an open position under its own weight, and is provided with a drive device that simultaneously rotates the shutters so as to close the opening of the housing in a blind-like manner in conjunction with the stopping operation of the printing device. During the printing process, the ink on the printing paper dries, which prevents set-off, and when the printing device stops, the shutter is instantly closed in conjunction with this stopping operation, and the heat is removed. Since the irradiation is blocked, the paper will not change color, deteriorate in quality, or burn, preventing the occurrence of paper waste.
Improves work safety. In addition, the paper ejection claws of the paper ejection chain are not repeatedly overheated, their deterioration is prevented, and their durability is improved, and printing paper can be prevented from being soiled by grease leaking from the claw shafts and the like. Furthermore, by making the shutters slightly narrower than the pitch so that there is a gap between the shutters when they are closed, the casing is not completely sealed, so heat does not get trapped inside, preventing heat sources, reflectors, etc. can improve the durability of
