本発明はカルボキシメチルセルロース(以下CMCと略

て、これらの方法で得られたCMCは十分な耐水性が要
求される液体吸着用の成形活性炭には全く便用できない
〇本発明者らは前述の欠点を改良すべく鋭意検討の結果
、活性炭粉末100重量部に対しCM Co、1〜10
重量部及び水を加えて混練し、加圧成形して得られる活
性炭を158〜200℃で数時間加熱乾燥することでC
MCの耐水性を十分改良できることを発見し、本発明を
