An optical fiber with pores slightly larger in diameter than the conventional optical fiber was used5, and an adhesive was infiltrated into the gap to fix the optical fiber and rod. This method has the disadvantage that if the gap is small, it is difficult to insert the optical fiber into the rod69, and if the gap is large, the positional deviation of the optical fiber becomes large and the connection loss increases. The purpose is to create an optical fiber connector that is small and has low connection loss.
Using elastic plastic as a means of
The structure is characterized in that the rod, the prong, and the eyelid come into contact at at least three or more contact points, and the rod has at least a pressurizing piece of the beak within the rod. In such a structure, the optical fiber is sandwiched between the rod and the pressurizing section, which is different from the conventional method. Since there is no adhesive between the two, there is no need to worry about misalignment, and the pressure piece can be moved to a certain degree due to its elasticity, making it easy to insert the optical fiber underneath. It is.

This shape is determined by the die used to extrude the plastic material of the rod 1, and may be uniform or twisted in the length direction. FIG. 2 shows the state in which the optical fiber 6 is inserted into the cavity 2 in FIG. On the contrary, the optical fiber 6 is held at the center of the rod 1 by uniform force applied by the pressure pieces 3, 4, and 5, and can be fixed by infiltrating the remaining portion of the cavity 2 with the adhesive 7.

Since the optical fiber 6 can be displaced by m, the outer diameter of the optical fiber 6 is not limited and can be used within a certain range, and even if the outer diameters are different as long as the core diameter is the same, connection is possible. The shapes of the pressure pieces 3, 4, and 5 are not limited to those shown in FIG.
Types with an increased number of pressure pieces or types arranged in a tomoe shape also work in the same way.

- A pair of optical fibers 12 can be connected within each rod 8. The optical fiber 12 is in contact with the rod 8 at a total of four contact points, and is pressed in the direction of the ■groove 9 by the pressure piece lO・11, so the surface of the groove 9 must be sufficiently smooth. This makes it easy to connect with low loss. Outside ff of rod 8
l can be used as a rectangular or circular shape depending on the type of connector. Furthermore, the same purpose can be achieved even if only one pressurizing piece is used, which is a little longer.

In manufacturing, continuous mass production is possible by extruding the plastic material from a predetermined mold, which is advantageous over products that are molded one by one.
