Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the operating time of a yarn changing suction gun for a high-speed yarn winder by providing in the proximity of a suction hole a yarn cutter which can be advanced and retreated in the direction of yarn movement.
CONSTITUTION: The high speed-spun yarn Y, after being regulated in the spinning conditions by the godet rollers 51, 52, is traversed with the traverse guides 53aW53d acting as the center, respectively, to build up packages 55aW55d by the winder 54. When the bobbins have become full, the suction gun 10 is operated into the state of suction and is first advanced in between the guide 53a and the winder 54 so that the mouth 13 of the gun 10 touches the nearest yarn Y1, which is in turn set in the slit 13' which is formed across the mouth 13. Next the cutter 23 located in the vicinity of the mouth 13 is caused to move forward by means of the pushbutton 39 and the cylinder 21, and the cissors 32, 33 are aclosed to cut the yarn, which is immediately sucked into the gun 10. Thus the yarns Y2WY4 can be cut and sucked into the gun one after another in the same manner.
