Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately throw articles into vessels from a metering hopper moving with the vessels on a conveyor without causing any damage of the articles, by permitting the hopper to be shifted along the conveyor.
CONSTITUTION: An endless chain conveyor 1 is provided with transfer claws 2 and transfer plates 3 at a predetermined interval, while vessels 5 are mounted on the conveyor 1. A hopper 14 which is movably disposed along the conveyor 1 is guided by a sliding rod 19 and shifted only at a predetermined interval by the engagement each claw 2 of the chain with an engaging lever 25. When the hopper 14 is shifted, articles in the hopper 14 are transferred into the vessels 5. A rodlike cake or the like is safely supplied to the vessels 5 on the conveyor 1 after it is metered.
