NEW MATERIAL:A monoazo compd. of formulaI[wherein R1 is (substd.) alkyl, (substd.)phenyl, aralkyl or alkenyl; R2 and R3 are each H, (substd.)alkyl, aralkyl or alkenyl; A is 1,2,4 (or 1,3,4)-thiadiazolylene; X is H, alkyl or alkoxy; Y is (substd.)alkyl or (alkyl)phenyl] such as a compd. of formula II.
USE: A dye for dipping or printing a polyester fiber, from clear red to violet in color tone.
PREPARATION: A diazonium salt of an aminothiadiazole of formula III is coupled with an aniline of formul IV.
