Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent exhaust from mixing in oil and eliminate early deterioration of the oil, by feeding fresh air or blow-by gas into an oil sump during operation of a scavenging pump.
CONSTITUTION: During operation of an engine, a scavenging pump 30 is driven to return oil in an oil sump 27 to an oil pan at the side of the engine. While an oil pump of the engine is also rotated to lubricate a bearing 13 through a pipe 28a. However, the scavenging pump 30, being provided with larger discharging power, causes the inside of the oil sump 27 in negative pressure. Here the oil sump 27 is communicated to a gear case through a blow-by gas introducing pipe, 55, then blow-by gas is sucked into the oil sump 27, thus exhaust can be prevented from mixing into oil.
