Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the hot workability, machinability and corrosion resistance of the resulting Cu alloy by providing a specified composition consisting of Cu, Pb, Sn, Ni and the balance Zn.
CONSTITUTION: This corrosion resistant Cu alloy has a composition consisting of, by wt., 57.0W63.0% Cu, 1.0W3.0% Pb, 0.5W1.5% Sn, 0.5W2.5% Ni and the balance Zn or further contg. one or more among 0.1W1.0% each of Fe, Mn, Si and Al and/or one or more among 0.01W0.2% each of Sb, As and P. This Cu alloy has superior mechanical properties, machinability, hot workability and corrosion resistance.
