Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate a rapid change of firing positions, by using firing position data on the basis of a control state of intake air amount as a firing position target value, approximating the preceding actual firing position to the target value by a prescribed value, applying the approximated value as a new firing position and performing firing in accordance with said net firing position.
CONSTITUTION: A difference between the preceding ignition timing and this time ignition timing is obtained in a step 532, and if the difference is smaller than a prescribed value, the ignition timing is applied in a value as it is. When the difference is larger than the prescribed value, decision is made in a step 538 for whether it is an advanced angle or retard angle, and the ignition timing is change in steps 540, 542 by a prescribed value. Though the fundamental ignition timing is performed at every prescribed time, the above described arithmetic correction is synchronously performed with speed of an engine. In this way, a rapid change of output torque can be prevented, and an arithmetic request processing amount is not easily changed by speed of the engine.
