Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect and determine amino acids and/or amines with high sensitivity by adding a fluorescence emissive reagent NBD-F into the sample to be tested to cause the sample to react and measuring the fluorescence intensity of the deriv. produced at this time. CONSTITUTION:A sample to be tested contg. amino acids and a 0.1M boric acid buffer contg. 0.1ml NBD-F enthanol soln. and 20% ethanol are sampled in a test tube and are mixed. This test tube is put in a thermostatic chamber controlled to 60+ or -1 deg.C, to cause the amino acids or amine and the fluorescence emissive reagent NBD-F to react. Upon completion of the reaction, the test tube is cooled with iced water, after which the fluorescence intensity is measured by using a fluorophotometer. Thereby, the usage of the reagent and the sample is reduced and reaction time and reaction temp. are reduced.
