Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an aqueous coenzyme Q pharmaceutical, containing many ribosomes of a specific amount of lecithin containing a specified amount of dispersed coenzyme Q in an emulsified state, having improved absorbability substantially without ethanol with no limitation on use. CONSTITUTION:One pt.wt. coenzyme Q and 15-100pts.wt. lecithin are dissolved in a solvent capable of dissolving both substances easily, preferably an organic solvent having a dipole moment value <=1.5 (in the liquid phase) and a high volatility or a 3-7C carboxylic ester, and then the solvent is removed. The resultant residue is then emulsified in an aqueous solvent to give an aqueous coenzyme Q pharmaceutical containing many ribosomes of lecithin containing dispersed coenzyme Q in the proportion described above in an emulsified state and substantially no ethanol. The resultant pharmaceutical has improved absorbability in digestive tracts and is useful for the treatment of angina pectoris, etc. by the oral administration.
