Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable response signals to be discriminated without any hindrance, by providing a reflecting member near the opening surface of the antenna for both transmission and reception of an interrogator-responder in order to send a portion of the electric power radiated from the antenna back to the antenna side. CONSTITUTION:A reflecting member 32 made of metal is provided at a part of an antenna 15, near an opening surface 31 thereof. Here, the electric power sent to the antenna system from a circulator 25 is reflected from the antenna system by a quantity e1 determined according to the standing-wave ratio of th antenna system. In addition, if the electric reflected from the reflecting member 32 on the front surface of the antenna is represented by e2, e2 can be set so as to have the same amplitude as e1 and an inverted polarity by regulating the size of the reflecting member 32 and th connecting position between said member 32 and the antenna 15. Accordingly, a resultant power, e1+e2=0, can obtained at the reception-side output of the circulator 25. By such a constitution, it is possible to sufficiently restrain the power from being reflected from the antenna system and to prevent the saturation of the mixer in the reception system. Accordingly, response signals can be discriminated without any hindrance.
