Abstract
PURPOSE: To transfer the heat from a thin plate to a material to be heated by contacting with each other and as well as prevent a flame hole plate from being damaged due to boiling over by a method wherein oxidizing catalyst is supported on the flame hole plates itself as the catalytic combustion carrier at the burner of gas such as town gas or the like in order to red-heat the flame hole plate and heat the material to be heated through the thin plate.
CONSTITUTION: Small holes 4, through which gas fuel passes, are perforated over the flame hole plate 3. A backfire prevention plate 5, which prevents the backfire from spreading upstream, is arranged below the flame hole plate 3. The flame hole plate 3 is covered by the thin plate 7 and the exhaust gas discharged from the flame hole plate 3 is rendered to blow out upward from a gap 9 between the peripheries of a frame 8 and the thin plate 7. The catalyst consisting of platinum group metal or platinum oxide is carried on the flame hole plate 3. As the space within which the flames are formed is very narrow when the material to be heated is put on the thin plate 7, so the combustion is performed at first in short flames and, after a few minutes, shifted to the catalytic combustion to perform the flameless combustion. The infrared ray 11 radiated from the flame hole plate 3 is absorbed by the thin plate 7 and transfered to the material to be heated 12.
