Abstract
PURPOSE: A pigment with high solar energy absorption, low radiation rate and excellent heat-accumulating efficiency, useful as a pigment used for a paint for coating the surface of a solar energy accumulator, which is prepd. by the blackening treatment of the surface of an Al powder.
CONSTITUTION: The surface of an Al powder is blackened by treating the powder in a soln. contg. a metal nitrate (A) such as copper nitrate, a permanganate (B) such as the potassium salt and nitric acid (C) at a temp. ≤20°C, to obtain the titled composition. Said nitric acid C is pref. 1W1.5N in concentration, and said soln. pref. contains about 0.5% nitrate and about 1% permanganate.
EFFECT: A pigment of good heat accumulating efficiency with solar energy absorption about 0.96 and radiation rate about 0.30 is obtd.
