Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the screw-in torque characteristic and to rationalize the advancing attitude of the screw by forming a specified number of flat zones in an area covering the truncated cone-shaped shaft section and the pillar-shaped shaft section, and by transferring the male screw thread to the whole area of base materials for the screw except the end part of the truncated cone-shaped saft section.
CONSTITUTION: Three flat zones 16 are formed at regular intervals in the direction of the circumference and in parallel to the axis of a base material 10 in an area extended from the upper part of an end part of a shaft 15 to a part of a pillar- shaped shaft section 11, by leaving the end part 15 at the end section of a truncated cone-shaped shaft section 14 untouched. In the turncated cone-shaped shaft section 14, the first deltoid area 17 is formed, and, in the pillar-shaped shaft section 11, a rectangular area 18 which is extended along the direction of the axis and the second deltoid area 19 are formed. Then, male screw threads 20 are transferred to the whole area of the truncated cone-shaped shaft section 14 and the pillar-shaped shaft section 11 except the end part 15. Therefore, male threads 21 for cutting the first preparatory female screw are transferred to the truncated cone-shaped shaft section 14 between the first deltoid areas 17, and male threads 22 for cutting the second preparatory female screw are transferred to the pillar-shaped shaft section 11 between rectangular areas 18. Moreover, male threads 22' for cutting the third female screw are transferred to the second deltoid area 19.
