Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase sensing sensitivity in a conductivity meter by passing sample through an electric dialysis type cation removing device (EBS). CONSTITUTION:By a pump 2, eluate flows in the sequence of a sample introducing device 3, a separating column 4, an eluate chamber 77 of an EBS cell 7, a cell of a the conductivity meter 6, and a tank 13a. By a pump 10, anolyte flows to an anolyte chamber 78 of the EBS cell and a tank 13b. By a pump 12, catholyte flows to a catholte chamber 79 and a tank 13c. Sample liquid is injected into the flow of the eluate in the sample introducing device 3 and carried to the separating column 4 wherein strong base anion exchange resin whose ion exchange capacity is low is filled. The sample llquid is separated into various kinds of ions. Separated and eluted ions pass an electric dialysis means having a flow path formed by a cation exchange composition in the EBS cell 7. The cations are removed. The sample is introduced into the measuring cell of the conductivity meter 6, and the conductivity of each peak of chromatograph is meausred. Thus the anions included in the sample liquid is analyzed.
