Abstract
PURPOSE: To save water consumption by sending the filtrate obtd. during dehydrating of sludge by means of two sheets of main and auxiliary endless filter belts while superposing and sandwiching the sludge with these belts for belt cleaning water.
CONSTITUTION: Sludge is supplied to the top surface of a main belt 1 under endless circulation and movement. While it is dehydrted, it advances horizontally, and at the trailing end thereof, an auxiliary belt 2 superposes on the main belt 1 from above, by which the dehydrated sludge is sandwiched. Then, while both belts 1, 2 pass through various rolls 12, 13, the sludge is further dehydrated, and dehydrated cake is stripped by a driving roll 14. Thence, before the belt 1 returns to the home position, it is washed with a washing device 4. Also, the belt 2 is washed by a washing device 18 just before a turning roll 9', and is further washed by a spraying pipe 19. The water used for washing in the devices 4, 18 and the filtered water from the sludge on the belt 1 are gathered in a water receiver 15, from which it is supplied by a pump P1 to the pipe 19. The water from the pipe 19 is supplied via a storage tank 21 having an overflow port into the devices 4, 18 by a pump P2.
