Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the degree of attenuation of optical beam and at the same time to ensure the use of any optical beam in the wavelength region as a optical source, by giving a displacement to a flexible flat plate beam at a specific position among plural number of them in accordance with the input signal. CONSTITUTION:Photo deflecting element array 4 is formed on an insulated substrate 40 with plural units of cantilever-shaped flexible flat plate beams 41, 42... plus a drive circuit 8 in the lengthwise direction of the substrate. At the same time, electrodes 4A and 4B are provided on the substrate 40 and oposite to the beams 41, 42.... In such array 4, the voltage is applied between the electrode 4A of a flat plate beam at a specific position corresponding to the input signal and its opposite electrode 4B. AS a result, the static electric power functions between the electrodes 4A and 4B, and the beams 41 42... are displaced in their lengthwise direction. Accordingly the light beam given from a light source 1 and irradiated to the beams 41, 42... has a change of its angle of reflection, and the reflected light of the beam is led to a photosensitive drum 7 through a Selfoc lens 6. Thus an input signal waveform can be recorded on the recording paper (not shown in the diagram) via the drum 7.
