Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a titled composition which has superior fixability to paper at relatively low temps. and does not cause offsetting at high temps. by using a graft polymer prepd. by graft polymn. of vinyl monomers with polyester of specific characteristics as a binder resin. CONSTITUTION:(A) 2-50pts.wt. polyester of 500-10,000mol.wt. contg. 0.2-10wt% aliphatic unsatd. dibasic acid such as maleic acid, fumaric acid or the like is subjected to graft polymn. with (B) 98-50pts.wt. one or more kinds of vinyl monomers contg. >=50wt% aromatic vinyl compounds such as styrene, vinyl toluene or the like by a soln. polymn. method, a suspension polymn. method or the like. Next, the resultant graft polymer is used as a binder resin and is dissolved and kneaded with coloring pigments such as carbon black and the mixture is pulverized after cooling, whereby the intended toner composition for electrophotography suited for heating roll fixation system is obtained.
