Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the wear and melt sticking resistances of the resulting electrical contact material by dispersing composite oxide of Bi-Sn as a principal metallic oxide in the matrix of an Ag-Cu alloy.
CONSTITUTION: This electrical contact material consists of, by wt., 2W40% Cu in the matrix of an Ag-Cu alloy, 1.5W5% Bi in the form of Bi oxide, 0.5W8% Sn in the form of Sn oxide and the balance Ag or further contains 1W5% In when In oxide is added.
