Abstract

PURPOSE: To have an unchanged fastening of an adjusting nut even when the steering column is rotated for any arbitrary angle by furnishing a restrictive means for relative movement of the adjusting nut with respect to a distance bracket while rotating the steering column upon loosening the adjusting nut.
CONSTITUTION: Guide grooves (22), (23) of a column clamp (6) and the stopper part (25) of an adjusting bolt (24) are conslidated to turn an adjusting lever (17) so that its oposite end separates from the column cover (20) to loosen the adjusting nut (16), constituting a restraining means (27) for the adjusting bolt (24) not making relative movement with respect to the distance braket (8) while the steering column rotated.
