Abstract
PURPOSE:To discriminate the direction simply in the discrimination of the turning direction, by identifying the phase relationship between two pulse signal series obtained in response to the turning in time series. CONSTITUTION:The two pulse signal series X and Y are obtained from optical pulse encoders which are synchronously rotated with a rotating body. The slits of the encoders are provided so that only the parts of the H states of the signals X and Y are overlapped and the output phases are shifted. From said signals, an inverted signal X', a rise up signal Y1, and a decaying signal Y2 are obtained via an inverter 3, a rise up sensor 4, and a decay sensor 5. Signals A and B are obtained via AND circuits 6a, 6b, 6d, and 6e and OR circuit 6c and 6f. In the case of the turning direction where the phase of X leads that of Y, output appear at 6a and 6b, and the pulses are obtained in the signal A. When the phase of Y leads that of X, outputs appear at 6d and 6e, and the pulses are obtained in the signal B.
