Abstract

PURPOSE: To successively vulcanizing a rubber sheet without giving a tensile force thereto, by introducing an unvulcanized rubber sheet between hot plate with the sheet put on a belt to cause the sheet to be vulcanized, and thereafter taking the sheet out.
CONSTITUTION: The unvulcanized rubber sheet 16 reeled out from a roller 15 is put on the endless belt 7 that spans a driving roller 8 rotatably supporting by a support member 10 located upstream of a press apparatus 1 and an idler roller 11 rotatablly supported by a support member 13 located downwstream of the press apparatus 1, and is introduced between the hot plate 5, 6 of the apparatus 1 by rotating the roller 8, and then the traveling of the belt 7 is stopped. Next, a hydraulic cylinders 2 are actuated to raise a movable plate 4 so that the sheet 16 on the belt 7 is pressed by the hot plates 5, 6 to be vulcanized, then the movable plate 4 is lowered, the belt 7 is moved forward, and the vulcanized rubber sheet is taken up by a take-up roll 20. As a consequence thereof, a vulcanized rubber sheet having a certain quality without cracks or loosening is obtained.
