Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to perform an inexpensive and precise measurement by means of a simple structure, by a method wherein a change in a buoyancy of an outer cylinder with bottom for detecting a buoyancy is detected by means of a load detector through a coupling lever to measure a liquid level. CONSTITUTION:A load cell 10 is mounted at a top of a base part 6, a hollow outer cylinder 14, whose bottom part 13 is closed off and which detects a buoyancy, is hung down from the bottom of the base part 6, and the load cell and the hollow outer cylinder are coupled together through a coupling lever 12. The outer cylinder 14 and the base part 6 are connected together through a rubber seal material 15, and this prevents the transmission of a force between the outer cylinder and the base part. In this constitution, if a liquid level changes, the buoyancy of the cylinder 14 changes, and the buoyancy is detected through the coupling lever 12 by means of the load cell 10. In this case, the force exerted on the cell 10 proportions to a height h, to which the outer cylinder 14 is immersed down, or a liquid level. As a result, if the output of the cell 10 is amplified by means of an amplification circuit 4 and is indicated by an indication circuit 5, this permits the precise measurement of the liquid level by means of a simple constitution.
