Abstract
PURPOSE: To avoid a noise in operation and the deterioration of feeling performance, by halogenating the cup seal of a master cylinder for a hydraulic brake or the like.
CONSTITUTION: A cylinder 1 is made of synthetic resin and integrated with a reservoir 2. Among cup seals 11, 12 provided on the piston 7, at least the primary- side member 11 is halogenated. When the piston 7 is slightly moved leftward by treading pressure on a push rod 10, a stopper 15 is moved leftward so that the head 17 of a rod 16 and the stopper 15 are disengaged from each other. As a result, a valve 19 which has been pulled rightward with a gap S through the rod 16 because of the engagement of the head 17 of the rod 16 with the stopper 15 is moved leftward by the force of a spring 20 to close a hole 21. For that reason, pressurized oil in a pressure chamber 22 is supplied to a wheel cylinder or the like to perform braking action. In that case, the cup seal 11 slides as it is deformed by pressure. But, because the cut seal 11 is halogenated, a noise and the deterioration of feeling are avoided.
