Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the wandering property during running over rutted road by a method wherein the rigidity of the tread-in side groove wall in the tire is made higher than that of the kick-off side groove wall. CONSTITUTION:Lateral grooves 3 are cut in to a tread 2 at the marginal regions of the both sides of the tread 2. Let the groove wall of the lateral groove, the side of which contacts with the ground ahead the other side of the lateral groove during the rotation of the tire, be the kick-off side groove wall 4a. Let the groove wall of the lateral groove, the side of which contacts with the ground after the other side, be the tread-in side groove wall 4b. The angle beta between the tread-in side groove wall 4b and the tread surface 2 is intended to be larger than the angle alpha between the kick-off side groove wall 4a and the tread surface 2. And yet the rigidity of the groove wall 4b is made higher than that of the groove wall 4a. Due to the structure as described above, the shearing forces are generated at the right and left marginal regions of the tread with the rotation of the tire. When the tire runs over a slant such as a rut or the like, because the ground contact lengths at the right and left marginal regions are different, the shearing forces generated at the regions are different, resulting in generating the turning moment. Because said turning moment has the direction to run up the slant, the improvement of the warndering property of the tire is resulted.
