Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide optimum control of actual air fuel ratio by providing an exhaust sensor in an exhaust path to controllably feedback EGR amount for air fuel ratio control while compensating for the air fuel ratio accompanying EGR.
CONSTITUTION: A microcomputer 14 for controlling a fuel injection nozzle 5 and a three-way solenoid valve 12 for controlling the opening of a EGR valve 9 for controlling EGR amount is provided while an exhaust sensor 19 is provided in an exhaust path to be connected to the computer 14. Duty ratio D of the solenoid valve 12 is increased or decreased by the computer 14 according to the case of actual air fuel ratio detected by the exhaust sensor 19 richer or leaner than theoretical air fuel ratio to control the opening of the EGR valve 9 and adjust the EGR amount for providing actual air fuel ratio coinciding with the theoretical one.
