Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the viscosity of separated matter, to prevent the trouble in scrubbing water piping systems and to facilitate the handling and transport of the separated matter by separating the solids in the thermally cracked gases produced during treatment of municipal refuse to dust contents and oil and the like contents by scrubbing towers of high temp. and low temp.

CONSTITUTION: Thermally cracked gases are introduced into a high temp. scrubbing tower 6 through an inlet 1, and are scrubbed by the scrubbing liquid of high temp. sprayed from a spray port 14, thereafter, they are introduced via an outlet 16 into a low temp. scrubbing tower 7, where they are scrubbed with scrubbing liquid of low temp. and are exhausted through an outlet 18 into an exhaust line 2. At this time, in the tower 6, on oil contents and tar contents are condensed, and only the dust contents are scrubbed away and settle on the bottom part. In the tower 7, the temp. of the scrubbing liquid is cooled by the cooler 12 in the circulating route and therefore the oil contents and tar contents condense and stagnate on the bottom part. Here, the dust contents are settled and separated, and the oil contents and tar contents are floated and separated.
