Abstract
PURPOSE: The titled composition damaging slightly melt furnace, etc., having improved workability, exhibiting reduced filament broken phenomena, comprising SiO2, Al2O3, CaO, MgO or BaO, Na2O or K2O, ZnO2, MoO3, CdO, Fe2O3 or FeO as ingredients.
CONSTITUTION: A glass composition consisting of 64W68wt% SiO2, 1W5wt% Al2O3, 5W11wt% RO (R is Ca, Mg, or Ba), 7W13wt% R2'O (R' is Na or K), 8W13wt% ZrO2, 0.1W0.5wt% MoO3, 0.1W0.5wt% CdO, and 0.5W1.0wt% Fe2O3 or FeO. RO in the composition acts as a fusing agent and provides alkali resistance. R2'O acts as a flux and ZrO2 provides alkali resistance. MnO3 and CdO give melting properties and alkali resistance respectively, and Fe2O3 and FeO are added to improve workability.
