Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent surging vibration and its knocking noise and reduce the number of parts by using a covered coil spring. CONSTITUTION:A covered coil spring 7 is attached to the upper portion of a shock absorber 1 to cover its rod 1a. This covered coil spring 7 comprises a coil spring 8 having the diameter of the strand converged sequentially toward the ends and a tubular soft urethane foamed body 9, the former being bedded in the latter. Thus, even if impact and high speed vibration are given in travelling, strands of coil do not collide with each other so that knocking noise due to surging, etc. is prevented. Also, since the urethane foamed body 9 has shock absorbing property, occurrence of coil surging is prevented.
