Abstract
PURPOSE:To print many copies stably by using an organic photochromic compound as a photoreceptor and by charging it after light-image irradiation. CONSTITUTION:An organic photochromic polymer or organic photochromic compound is dissolved in a solvent together with a polymer, and the solution is applied over a drum-shaped conductive base 1, such as an Al plate 3, to provide a photosensitive layer 2, thus forming a photoreceptor 3. An exposure unit 4 is used to irradiate the photoreceptor 3 an optical image of ultraviolet rays. When corona discharge is performed by a charging corona charger 5 to charge the photoreceptor 3, its irradiated part is being energized, so its charge is lessened to be held on the surface at an unirradiated part, thereby forming an electrostatic latent image. This electrostatic latent image is developed by a developing unit 6 with toner to obtain a visible image. The visible image is transferred to transfer paper 7 by performing corona discharge of the opposite polarity to the toner from the reverse surface of the transfer paper 7 by using a transfer charger 8, thereby obtaining a clear picture printed body.
