Abstract
PURPOSE: A thermoplastic styrene resin composition with improved thermal deformation resistance, prepared by the incorporation of a specified styrene copolymer.
CONSTITUTION: A styrene copolymer preferably having molecular wt. similar to that of a polystyrene to be modified, which is prepd. by the copolymn. of 30W 55wt% 2-methylstyrene, 70W45wt% styrene and 0W10wt% another vinyl monomer such as methyl (meth)acrylate is used. 80W20pst.wt. said copolymer is blended with 20W80pts.wt. polystyrene and/or impact-resisting styrene polymer. A copolymer containing 5W40wt% diene rubber prepd. by grafting styrene, optionally together with a small amt. of methyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile, etc., onto a diene rubber, is used as said impact-resisting styrene copolymer.
