Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of spatter due to contact between the wire and base metal in making ignition of arc discharge by noncontact using a high frequency electric power source by making wire feeding only when a detector is detecting welding current. CONSTITUTION:When a high frequency electric power source 8 is made on and a welding arc is generated between a wire 2 and a base metal 4, a detector 13 detects rising up of welding current and gives a command to drive a wire feeding device. By this, the wire feeding device 3 is driven and the wire 2 is sent to the base metal, and steady welding is performed under a state that the quantity of feed and melting of the wire 2 is balanced. Consequently, shorting phenomenon between the wire 2 and base metal 4 can be prevented beforehand. When arc blow occurs, the controlling circuit 14 stops sending of wire feeding signal immediately.
