Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform a measurement of leucocyte and hemoglobin by means of a common cell, by a method wherein a colorimetric cell and a particle counting cell are performed in common. CONSTITUTION:A measurement cell 3 is provided with a path 1 for colorimetric measurement, which has a comparatively wide section, and a path 2 for blood corpuscle counting which has a comparatively narrow section, and is secured on a cell holder 6. A light, emitted from a light source 13, is formed into a parallel light by means of a lens 12, and turns a direction by means of a prism 11. A colorimetric path 1 is irradiated with the light through a prism 14, and the light enters into a light-receiving element 17 for light-detecting through a filter 37. Meanwhile, light rays focused to the path 2 for particle-detecting are formed into a toroidal light flux 40 by means of a plate 38 provided with a black light-shielding plate 8, and are focused by a lens 15. A light-receiving element 16 detects a scattered light produced following the passage of a blood corpuscle. A light-emitting diode 7 generates a mimic light pulse being similar to the scattered light, and is used with a calibration of a device.
