Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide phosphor bronze contg. a specified percentage each of Sn, P and Fe besides the balance Cu and fit for electronic parts as a lead frame material of a semiconductor device such as IC and as a spring material of a connector, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This invention relates to a Cu alloy for electronic parts obtd. by adding a specified amount of Fe to conventional phosphor bronze, and this Cu alloy consists of 3W9% Sn, 0.03W0.3% P, 0.15W1% Fe and the balance Cu with impurities. In the alloy Fe forms iron phosphide, thereby making the grains fine, strengthening the matrix phase and enhancing the hot workability and heat resistance. When this alloy is directly plated with tin, a P-Sn compound is hardly formed. Accordingly, a problem that tin plating is peeled off is solved.
