Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize a thin-gage structure of a tape recorder, by providing a pinch roller at the conventional capstan position and making the conventional pinch roller serve also the function of the conventional capstan as a driving roller. CONSTITUTION:A reel shaft 5 which engages a reel hub 6 of a tape cassette 7 storing a magnetic tape 4 plus a pinch roller 10 which is put into the cassette 7 through a positioning hole 2' at the side of the front opening of the cassette 7 are fixed to a reel substrate 1'. A fixed substrate 1 contains a magnetic head and a driving roller 11 provided opposite to each other at the front opening part of the cassette 7 loaded into the substrate 1'. With operation of the operating element of a magnetic recorder and reproducer, the substrate 1' is made to slide onto the substrate 1, and then the roller 10 put into the cassette 7 is press-fixed to the roller 11 rotated by a motor 13 via the tape 4.
