Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive light-quantity controller, suitable for an apparatus wherein an light output for a short period of time can be neglected, by providing to a plurality of light-emitting elements a single photodetector and a plurality of driving circuits to drive the respective light-emitting elements, and finely changing the hold currents of said circuits. CONSTITUTION:The current values determined in current-amplifying circuits 31-1-31-n are applied to corresponding switching circuits 32-1-32-n and at the same time, the outputs corresponding to the input signals from signals lines iL1- iLn are delivered from the circuits 32-1-32-n and fed to a semiconductor laser array 9 including laser elements 9-1-9-n in order to output laser beams L1-Ln and LB1-LBn. Then, either of said outputs is detected by means of a detecting circuit 22 and fed to an upper-limit comparing circuit 25 and an upper-limit value setting circuit 23, and to a lower-limit comparing circuit 26 and a lower-limit value setting circuit 24, and in a counter-controlling signal forming circuit 28, the outputs for correcting the outputs of the circuits 31-1-31-n are obtained. Thereafter, said outputs are changed over in a changeover circuit 27, and said circuits 31-1-31-n are selected by using a reversable counter group 29-1-29-n and a D/A converter group 30-1-30-n.
