Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a sufficient supercharging effect until an engine reaches to a high speed region, by providing a check valve which makes a suction direction into a valve opening direction in a branch passage to each cylinder of a suction system passage, in a captioned engine provided with the suction system passage and a supercharging system passage having a supercharger independently. CONSTITUTION:A suction system passage 2 possesses a suction port 5 which is opened or closed with a suction valve 8 and a suction passage 7 which is connected with an air cleaner 6, and supplies mixed gas produced by a caburetor 9 to a combustion chamber. On the other hand, a supercharging system passage 3 possesses a supercharger port 12 which is opened or closed with a supercharger valve 14 and a supercharger passage 13 which is connected with the air cleaner 6, and supplies air compressed by a supercharger 11 to the combustion chamber. In this case, a check valve 18 which allows a passage of only a mixed gas flow in an arrow direction Y is provided in a branch passage part to each cylinder of the suction system passage 2, for example, in a joint part between the suction port 5 and the suction passage 7. In addition to the above, a throttle valve 15 is provided in the supercharging system passage 3 upstream its junction part 19.
