Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain highly accurate thickness of a compression formed product irrespective of packed quantity of pulverulent body by controlling die position at the time of compression according to variation of packed quantity of the pulverulent body. CONSTITUTION:When an upper die punch 22 is driven toward a lower die punch 26 by a ram 14, compressive force of the ram 14 is transmitted successively to an arithmetic circuit 44 by a pressure sensor 42. The arithmetic circuit 44 determines positional deviation of the upper die punch 22 and lower die punch 26 corresponding to the compressive force from the difference between the reference compressive force and compressive force, and commands target die position obtained by correcting the reference position basing on the positional deviation to a die position control circuit 48. When the position of the upper die punch 22 referring to the press machine frame 2 indicated by the position of a slide 18 arrives at the target position, the control circuit 48 outputs a stop signal to a control valve 16 to stop compression by the ram 14.
