Abstract

PURPOSE:An electrolyte stirring device of a lead acid battery, often used in deep discharge state, such as for an electric car or a forklift. CONSTITUTION:Figures 1 and 1' show containers, 2 and 2' electrolytes, 3 and 3' U-shaped tubes, and whose lower parts 4 and 4' are porous so as to be able to transmit the electrolyte and the other parts 5, 5' and 6, 6' are non porous so as not to be able to practically transmit a gas. Each one end of 5 and 5' is open above the electrolyte surface, 6 and 6' are connected in airtightness with a gas path 7 outside a cell. The electrolyte transmitted from the porous part 4 or 4' is filled within the U-shaped tube 6, 4, and 5 or 6', 4', and 5'. When air is supplied to the gas path 7, the electrolyte inside the U-shaped tube is gushed out on the electrolyte surface. Therefore, when the upper part of the electrolyte becomes low specific gravity and the lower part of it becomes high specific gravity, by intermittently supplying air to the gas path, the high specific gravity electrolyte is filled up to the upper part to eliminate the concentration difference of the electrolyte.
