Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition, which can remarkably reduce rolling resistance, without impairing its wet skid property, by blending specified oil- extended SBR with other diene rubber at specifically designed two stages. CONSTITUTION:100pts.wt. crude rubber, comprising (A) 20-80pts.wt. rubber having Mooney viscocity of 53 or more at 100 deg.C, prepared by extending SBR, containing 20wt% or more styrene and a butadiene portion having 20wt% or less 1,2-bonds, with extending oil and (B) 80-20pts.wt. at least one of other diene rubbers (e.g., general-purpose SBR or polyisoprene rubber), is prepared. At the first stage of a blending process, 40-70pts. carbon black is added to 49-90pts. crude rubber and mechanically blened. Thereafter, the remaining part (60-10pts.) of the crude rubber is added to and mechanically blended with the mixture at the second stage. In this way, an objective rubber composition is obtined.
