Abstract
PURPOSE:To make pre-treatment of pulverizing coal into small size unnecessary, to decrease NOx content, and to increase combustion efficiency of a fluidized furnace, by fluidize-burning coal of low quality level as it is of a diameter of coarse grain without pulverizing it, and by utilizing the lime ash itself produced as a result of combustion, as a fluidizing medium. CONSTITUTION:Unpulverized coal being fed into a hopper 1 is fed into a furnace 3 from a coal feed pipe 6. Combustion air is fed into the lower part of a furnace 3. The ash produced in a furnace is discharged to the outside of a furnace from an overflow pipe 14, being collected in an ash pond 15. A part of ash in an ash pond 15 is conveyed to a solid-gas separator 19 from a lift part 17 by a conveying air 18, being fed back into a furnace 3 through a recycle pipe 20. The ash fed back is utilized as a fluidizing medium in a furnace 3. With such an arrangement, a pre-treatment to pulverize coal is unnecessary, and the rate of generation of NOx is decreased, because the coal of larger diameter is more advantageous than the one of smaller diameter, as measures to counter NOx.
