Abstract

PURPOSE:To make compact the insulative material without applying the vibration from the outside, by vibrating the insulative material by means of a vibrator of a wire rope between the inner and the outer tanks. CONSTITUTION:After filling the insulative material into the gap 5 between the outer tank 2 and the inner tank 4 of a low temperature tank 1 of double shell structure to the predetermined height, a vibrator 16 suspended by a hoist mechanism 11 travelable in the circumferential direction is fixed to a plurality of wire ropes 8 stretched in said gap 5 with interval in the circumferential direction, then it is lowered to the upper position of the insulative material and the vibrator 16 is operated to apply the vibration onto the insulative material 6. Upon reaching to te predetermined compactness, the vibrator 16 is lifted and fixed to the adjoining wire rope 8 to perform the similar compacting work. Upon reaching to the predetermind compactness, the insulative material is filled to the predetermined height to repeat the similar compacting work.
