Abstract
PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of an automatic voltage regulator and its power source transformer by connecting a firing energy auxiliary supply circuit when a firing signal is applied simultaneously to a pluraity of thyristor arms at the time of establishing the voltage of the machine. CONSTITUTION:A condenser 14 is charged by a voltage which is rectified from the output of a transformer 10 connected to the output of a synchronous machine, and when a pulse is supplied to transistors 16a-16f from a pulse generator 15, a firing energy is supplied to the thyristor arms UP-WP, UN-WN of a thyristor exciter 9. When a plurality of thyristor arms are simultaneously fired at the time of establishing the voltage of the synchronous machine, a switch 17 is closed, and the energy of a condenser 18 charged by the voltage rectified from the output of a transformer 19 is simultaneously discharged at the time of discharging a condenser 14. In this manner, the capacity of the capacitor 14 can be reduced.
