Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the cooling efficiency of a rotary electric machine by blocking the end surface between poles at the downstream side of cooling air with a partition plate in a rotor in which cooling air is axially blown, thereby guiding the cooling air axially flowed to a radial stator cooling air passage. CONSTITUTION:When cooling air is blown axially through interpole draft passage 14 to a rotor 6 having salient-poles 11, a partition plate 12 is mounted on the end face of the rotor at the downstream side of the cooling air to block the end of the passage 14. In this manner, the cooling air flowed axially into the passage 14 is guided to a radial draft duct 4 formed at a stator 1, thereby enhancing the cooling efficiency. Accordingly, a cooler can be reduced in size, and a fan noise can also be reduced.
