Abstract

PURPOSE:To print a beautiful image on a formed product having a complicated surface shape by tightly applying an impression cylinder which is formed into the reverse shape of the formed product to the back of an elastic sheet on which an image to be transferred is formed and then pressing the image to be transferred to the surface of the product to be printed. CONSTITUTION:An elastic sheet 1 such as polyurethane, etc. is installed to an outer frame 2 and an image 3 to be transferred is formed on the elastic sheet by performing printing by using an appropriate printing method whereby impression pressure is applied to the back of the elastic sheet by means of a roller 4, etc. Then, an impression cylinder 5 made of elastic substance such as rubber, etc. or rigid substance such as wood, metal, etc. which is formed into the reversed shape of the surface shape of a product to be printed, and has many small holes on its surface is pressingly applied to the back of the sheet 1 which is brought to tightly contact with the impression cylinder 5 by causing it to be deformed into the reversed shape by sucking it from inside the impression cylinders 5. Under such a condition wherein the sheet 1 is tightly pressed against the impression cylinder 5, the image 3 to be transferred of the sheet 1 is caused to transfer to the surface of the product 6 to be printed by tightly pressing it to the product 6.
