Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect the state of a body to be measured with removing the influence of its surface reflectivity, by providing a photodetection fiber which adjoins to a projection fiber in parallel, and another photodetection fiber which a certain angle to the projection fiber. CONSTITUTION:A projection fiber 3 is so provided that a light beam for measurement illuminates the surface of a body 2 to be measured at right angles. Then, the center axial line of photodetection luminous flux is in parallel to that of projection luminous flux from a fiber 3 for projection and also crosses the center axial lines of projection luminous flux of the projection fiber 3 and a photodetection fiber 4, arranged adjacently, at an angle theta (15-40 degrees) on the surface of the body to be measured 2, thus providing the 2nd projection fiber 5 in one body. Consequently, interference of light due to one projector is eliminated and the influence of reflectivity depending upon the material of the body to be measured is also eliminated, thereby measuring an accurate surface state, e.g. the roughness of the cut surface of a ground material in the process of cutting.
