Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent lubricating oil from being ejected outside due to a centrifugal force by shaping a tapered face in such a manner that its gradient may have a top point placed on an external circumference forward in a revolution direction of a rotary shaft and the lowest point placed on an internal circumference backward in the revolution direction. CONSTITUTION:A tapered face 2 shaped on a bearing face which keeps a rotary shaft of a tapered land bearing 1 has a gradient whose lowest point 4 is placed at the inner circumferential side backward in the rotating direction of the rotary shaft and top point 5 is placed at the external circumferential side forward in the rotating direction. Accordingly each tapered face 2 is formed as that its forward side in the rotating direction is higher in comparison with the backward side and the external circumferential side is higher than the internal circumferential side. Because of the reason, lubricating oil which is supplied on the tapered face 2 via oil grooves 3 when the rotary shaft is turned, is prevented from being ejected outside from the bearing face by a centrifugal force, thereby enhancing generation of pressure on the bearing face.
